As for the best thats just a personel opinion or choice. I have only owned GM Trucks until June of 09 and this is the first time since 1971 there hasn't been a GM Truck in my driveway. Any of the so called Big 3 1 tons DRW's will handle the 36' Mobiles Suites but you will be at or near the GVWR in some cases. We have only owned one Mobile Suites 36 TK 3 and we travel with just the necessary things needed and our weight is 24,400. Thats with the 2008 Chevy 1 ton DRWs. The Truck weight was 8,560. We never travel with water except just enough to flush the John. Most everyone I have met buy because of persnonel choice, and I'm sure you will make the correct choice for your needs. Good Luck with your choice. GBY.....

Thats a very loaded question. The best advise I can give you is to weigh your trailer with your current truck and then weigh the truck. Get your pin weight from the difference in the trucks rear axle trailer on and off.

Once you have that info, you will know the exact wt of your trailer and its pin wt. You can decide what truck you feel comfortable towing with after researching the specs of the trucks. Definitely do your research, never believe any Salesman!

You will receive all sorts of advice on Pick a Ford, Chevy, Dodge, MDT and HDT. If you want to know more about any one of them look for the signatures and contact those folks for detailed info. There are also other forums with info to check out, Escapees is one with vast info on MDT's and HDT's, 5th Wheel forums is another. And if you really want a eye opening experiences, check out RVnet!

You don't mention what trailer you have. If its any of the 36'-38' MS or ES they are very heavy and need to be on a substantial truck.

Lots of choices out there for you, check them all out!

Bill

I have towed with a 3500 Dodge Ram Long Bed, Cummins Diesel, 2 wheel drive for 10 years. I started with a 2000 and now towing with a 2007 that was manufactured before the lst of January 2007 so it has the old exhaust system. MPG has run between 10 and 13.5, of course depending on conditions.
