Default 4th Annual Canadian DRV Mini Rally

Hi Everyone!

It's hard to believe we are already at that time to make plans for this year's rally! This will be our 4th annual!! All the stored, frozen trailers are waiting to thawed out and readied for this camping season!! (except for those fortunate enough to be enjoying the west or south)

We had another great rally last summer in Kingston, Ontario with 10 units attending! Everyone enjoyed the Kingston area and the perfect weather it provided.

Here are the details for this year's rally and we very much look forward to seeing old and NEW friends this year! Please pass the word around and let's make this year another huge success!! We also enjoy the company of SOB (some other brand) friends! All are welcome!

Dates: 12-16 August 2010
You choose the length of your stay. Early arrivals or late departures are no problem, just advise the campground.

Location: Grenville Park
Prescott Ontario
http://www.grenvillepark.com/

This location was highly recommended by one of our rally participants as one of their favourite places to stay. Easy access, pretty and clean park, on the waterfront and close to many places to visit.

Directions: See campground website

Attention all US residents: We invite all our friends from south of the border! As a reminder, passports are now required to cross the border. Please allow time to receive them. There are no special requirements for insurance, just your usual requirements in your home state. Pets are welcome, you will need to have their rabies certificate with you. Remember, no firearms are allowed to be carried into Canada. This should make your trip a pleasant one!

Sites: The campground has reserved the entire "New West Area" for our group! It has water and 30 amp elec hookups for 14 units that can be parked any way we wish. The park has no sewer sites, but does have a dump station and offers pumpout service as required. The ground is grass with a few trees, and solid for our heavy units! No issues to access the sites. This area is on the water and relatively private for our group. See map of sites on the campground's website on the lower right hand side of the map.

We will be arriving on Thursday, 12 August and will help set up the parking.

Reservations: Call the campground directly at 613-925-2000. Please advise the owners that you are part of the "Bill and Joan Richard Party" or "Mobile Suite Group" and they will add your reservation to our area. Cost per night is $35.00.

Please let me know by PM when you have made your reservation and what your planned arrival/departure dates are.

Deadline: 30 May 2010 has been arranged to hold the sites, but this may be extended for anyone needing extra time.

Cancellation policy: Contact the campground.

Campground activities and area attractions:
As always, we will have our wonderful "Eating Events" and other activities TBA!

All ideas and suggestions appreciated! Please help make this the best Rally ever! If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!!

Prescott is located right across from Ogdensburg, NY on the beautiful St. Lawrence River.

Stayed in the pull thrus on a penisula that juts out into the river. In the afternoon the river level would rise and my suite would be totally surrounded by water. It was a little un-nerving but the office told us it was not unusual and not a problem.
We would definately stay there again.....a real nice park.
(the west area does not flood)
There is an Elite Suite who stays there all summer.

Thanks for the Info! I suspect the flooding was early in the season when the levels are high, noticed the trees are pretty bare still. I hope its much dryer in Aug!

As I recall it was about the second week of May.

Ok Folks, we have 7 signed up so far! There is still room to sign up for this great event! Contact the campground soon, and please advise me when you make your reservation. In a few weeks we are going to get our sites assigned, don't miss out on getting one of the premium sites overlooking the beautiful St Lawrence.

Cheers,
Bill

Hi Bill,

I not really sure if you have got us yet, I sent an email to you last week (I think), Joanne and I will be at the Rally and I've phoned the campground to include us on the list. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
