My truck is a 4X4 and they are naturally higher. This puts my rv at a downhill in back ride. I only get 7.9 mpg @60 mph towing. Is it catching more air like this? If I remember correctly I've got around 7" bed rail clearance. God bless.

Glenn, there should (may) be an axle-spring mount adjustment to look at that would raise the trailer about 2"--take a look at the brackets that the springs are attached to, there may be extra set of holes lower that would raise the trailer 2" to help with level towing. If not, then consider remounting the axles UNDER (flipping) the springs--fairly simple work for an axle/spring shop. If you do any work at all on the springs, check the eye bolts for wear and put new ones with grease zerks if you don't already have them.
I doubt that the lower rear towing attitude has much to do with mileage. Getting it to level will be the best towing attitude just for stability. Joe

It tows great. I had already planned on adjusting the shackles. Want to even axle load some. Hoping someone had done this and got better mpg. Just wishful thinking i guess.

Glenn,
While this doesn't necessarily answer the question in the body of your post, it may be a factor to the question in your subject line. If your trailer is truly higher in front, wouldn't that put you in a situation where your front trailer axle is NOT carrying the same weight as the back trailer axle? I would think that if that were the case, you might get some overheating on the back tires due to the extra load on that set of tires. That could lead to a tire failure over time. Just a thought. Terry

You are correct. That's why I had already planned on attempting to level it. Also why I stated in previous post about evening load on the axles. God bless.

Quote:
When I hooked up to the MS first time, truck and Ms were both level. I had the factory set up the susp. at the highest setting, which they do on all Suites since 2010. Towing from Elkhart to Mooresville,IN. (about 150 mi.) we got 10.5 mpg. We have the 2007 Chevy diesel dually with the 360HO and 6sp.Allison. Also we have the Ext.cab which is a little lighter than the CC. I know some months have passed since your original post, but thought I'd post anyway, maybe help someone. Safe Travels, orkirk
